8- W.I.P
W.I.P For my ongoing project consisting of an interview book containing interviews with people and their experiences with their mothers dementia. These images of the people being interviewed are hand distorted to more intensifying degrees as the interviews progress representing the diminishing memory of someone with dementia

This project explores how memories and faces blur and shift over time. By making precise cuts and arranging them in a specific sequence, I created a mosaic-like effect almost like stained glass giving the images a fragmented, dreamlike quality. I loved experimenting with these analogue edits, which led me to explore how the same technique could distort text in unexpected ways.
Applying this technique to carefully arranged type spelling “DEMENTIA” resulted in an intriguing yet illegible outcome. This experiment is part of a small-run publication I’m developing, exploring the experiences of family members who care for loved ones with dementia and the impact it has on them. The cover effectively captures the essence of memory distortion, visually reflecting the way dementia alters perception and communication.
Here is another hand cut collage of the word ‘Jean’ creating a cool mosaic like effect

I have always been inspired by the concept and notion of collage and was inspired to see how it would translate by creating one digitally. here is an example of a picture of myself walking down the bridge to Hogwarts, by creating the collage digitally it allows for a more detailed effect while still instresting as you dont have to follow the rules of shades.

This experiment came from a university project I like to call ‘The Dreamsnatcher’ althoughI I now see how awful that name is. I wanted to create something which represented a collection of items which would be deemed a significant catalyst in snatching ones dreams but visually it creates a compelling sculpture in which the viewer can interpret their own meaning.

When i have creative block i like to experiment in one line drawings, this is just one of thousands which I want to turn into a flipbook.

I was given the task to create a typeface inspired by a handkerchief and this was y first initial idea, it was interesting to see how fluid an object like a handkerchief could be when manipulated into different letterforms and how legible they needed to be.

Some undeveloped 35mm film was discovered in my parents loft, it was stored badly, covered in dust and other grime. I was interested in how these pictured would turn out after being stored so badly and forgotten about. i created a series explores the fading of memories and forgotten keepsakes after developing and scanning the negatives myself it became a representitive of lost memories.
